I have two young children who love to explore the city we live in. I do everything I can to keep them safe when we’re driving, walking or biking. That’s easy now: I can strap them in their car seat or hold their hand while crossing the street. But as they get older and more responsible, I won’t always be with them on every trip. They’ll ride their bike to a friend’s house, walk to the subway by themselves, and eventually get behind the wheel.

That’s why it’s so important for my children to know now – well before they can drive – how to avoid distractions on the road. Just like eating dinner or picking up toys, it’s all about focusing on what you’re doing. No matter how they’re getting around or how old they are, I’m raising my children to be distraction-free.
